Port Leucate, a whole history! Port Leucate is a seaside resort which was created in the 1960s, more precisely in 1968. The resort was created within the framework of the Mission Racine which aimed to develop tourism on the Languedoc coast.. This state mission, led by Sir Charles de Gaulle and his Prime Minister Georges Pompidou, had nearly 200km of fine sand laid out on the Mediterranean coast.
